Koh Samui
The island streets of Koh Samui, Thailand. During the day Samui is green, leafy and basically paradise. At night, it's colourful and the bustle of a never sleeping island creeps into your system. The locals are hearty and eager to lure you in with what little they have to offer, but it seems so foreign, so culturally necessary that we succumb to simple nutella pancakes with things that we easily can get off a supermarket shelf at home. But since it's on the streets of a tropical abyss we have to deep our finger in it. The tin roofs, the motorcycles and sheepish smiles of old + young locals were my favourite. I would go back just to understand more through them what being a local to paradise really means.
